Winner IACT Award A prize consisting of $25,000 cash will be awarded to the winning team. The winner of this prize is determined by an industry/university-judging panel to be the “business plan the judges feel most worthy of investment, paying particular attention to the team’s assessment of global opportunities, multidisciplinary approach and integration/diversity of team member skills”. To be eligible for entry, the venture proposed, or one deemed by the judges to be materially similar, must not have received, or be due to receive, more than $40,000 worth of funding. The winning team will be required to meet with Innovation ACT 6 months after the competition to see how they have progressed.

IACT2013 Runners-Up Award A prize consisting of $15,000 cash will be awarded to the runners-up team. The winner of this prize is determined by an industry/university-judging panel to be the “second-best business plan the judges feel most worthy of investment, paying particular attention to the team’s assessment of global opportunities, multidisciplinary approach and integration/diversity of team member skills”. An entry is deemed ineligible for this prize if it fails to meet the eligibility criteria of the main prize.

Best and Runners-up Pitch – 19 October 2013 Cash prizes to the value of $750, $500 and $250 respectively for the best pitches given at the Final Pitch Event on Saturday 19 October 2013. To be judged by a panel of industry/university representatives against the criteria of “most likely to make an investor want to see their business plan”.

Entrepreneur Awards Three prizes consisting of $2,000 cash each will be awarded to individual participants who have demonstrated an entrepreneurship mindset, based on active participation in the IACT 2013 programme: attendance at all events as well as dynamic approach to networking based on feedback from speakers, mentors and other participants. To be eligible, participants must meet all award requirements.
